Insights on Microbiome and Cancer Immunotherapy at BIGMED-Austria Seminar

Our very own nutrition expert, Renate Matzner-Hoffmayr, was invited to speak at the BIGMED-Austria Seminar held last week where she shared her insights on the link between microbiome, health, and cancer immunotherapy.
In her presentation, Renate discussed how the microbiome, the community of microorganisms that live in the human body, can influence the response to cancer immunotherapy. She explained how certain types of bacteria in the gut can enhance the effectiveness of immunotherapy, while others can undermine it. She also highlighted the potential of dietary interventions to modify the microbiome and improve cancer outcomes.
“It was an honour to give a lecture on the microbiome at BIGMED. Above all, it was nice to see so many doctors interested in the exciting connection between the microbiome and immunotherapy, because in my opinion, the microbiome is a very important factor” said Renate.
