Barbara gained her scientific expertise during her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford (UK). She made her business career at Siemens Healthineers, where she was responsible for Business Development in various healthcare systems across European countries. During her MBA (Corporate Finance) at the WU ExecutiveAcademy, she broadened her analytical know-how and practical management knowledge which was particularly advantageous for starting BiomeDx. Barbara is fascinated by bringing newest scientific insights into medical settings to establish successful businesses.

Nikolaus is a serial entrepreneur and medical doctor who has gained experience at hospitals throughout Austria, Germany, and Africa, which inspired him to numerous business projects. His first software company with a focus on IT security and was sold successfully in 2016. By combining his medical and technical knowledge, he is dedicated to bridge the gap of microbiome research and clinical medicine by applying latest technologies. Nikolaus Gasche has been placed on the Forbes 30 under 30 list.
